+ Meteor Crater of Arizona

it was a cold and overcast day but beautiful none the less. we had a cool tour walk around the rim. i also left this cashmere hat in their gift shop on accident, oh well. 

eroded sandstone although its more fun to think of these pock marks came from the boiling temperatures of the meteor impact

the house at the edge of the crater the family use to live in. An old woman cooked and did laundry here in between giving tours of the land through the early 1900s. a man fell asleep smoking by the fire and the whole lot burned down

+ the grandest of canyons

Jis a cold but great time to visit the canyon because there are perhaps hundreds less visitors per day. You can talk the rim trail without a crowd and even find your own cliff to have a picnic on without being overrun by tourists. 

a brave/stupid soul who had to take a selfie on every rock edge. I'm not sure if he made it out of the park alive

the sunniest view we got was towards the end of our stay on the eastern most point of the south rim trail
