+ Bangkok pt 2. walking around

One tuff city tiger I spotted lounging under an awning. It took a little while to get use to all the stray cats and dogs.

many sidewalks were dirty, but tree lined, and some had little makeshift shrines to the buddha. Leaving red tang was a popular offering.

we stumbled upon Bangkoks giant flower market. It was really neat and smelled so much better than the seafood markets

it was a holiday of sorts so there were bags of chryanthemum being hauled around town to various places that make ornamental weathes and offerings.

+ 1st stop : Bangkok. two days in the city before flying south to the coast.

arrive at midnight and stay in this hotel near the airport. (these are the only two bags we brought!)

taxi into the city. mass traffic for cars. Scooters was vehicle with momentum. 

we stayed on the second floor of this old chinatown storefront. 

we had to lock up each night, and let ourselves out in the morning with a giant padlock. 

our first Wat or buddhist temple, around the corner from our spot in Chinatown

birds in cages were a common occurance. many for sale, some in temples, restaurants. I am unsure of the meains, reason, and type of birds. Unsure of the plant to the left as well.

drinks out at a fancy spot in chinatown. I had a thai whiskey cock with a side of passionfruit,
Jasper had a drink with gold leafed black jelly in it.

temple of the golden dawn, at night across the river. The blur around it is scaffolding, they must have bee repairing the main stupa. 

+ 4th floor studio stay

The old edwardian / victorian houses of san francisco are so damned charming. There a some houses like this in louisville kentucky, in the 'old louisville' neighborhood, but i haven't seen too many in Denver. The old sinks, and light fixtures, the attic windows, the creaky floors. Such tactile goodness, an artist can live off this stuff.

view from one of the windows. it was barely ever sunny that weekend, but san fran can get away with that because it offers other pleasantries. 

+ city streets
