healthy breakfast

making breakfast for yourself isnt always fun, and sometimes we just go without. but today i wanted a healthy meal so i started my day with a vegan, gluten free breakfast. This is a Gluten free bagel (whole foods frozen) toasted with avocado, tomato, olives and fresh cracked pepper instead of cream cheese it was dee-licious.

a quick packed lunch

i needed something healthy to bring to work so i filled my bowl half way with short grain brown rice leftovers, a handful of spinash, and a carrot. for dressing soy sauce packets do just great. i also brought a little banana miso homemade dressing from the night before. this salad only had 4 ingredients but it was delicious and a healthy meal for my afternoon.

hemp milk

there are so many kinds of milks out there is cow milk isn't your thing and you don't feel like eating or drinking any soy.
hemp milk is one option that is creamy and healthy...

recipe:
1-2 cups hemp seeds (raw, hulled, organic
amount to taste of the following:
salt
cinnamon
turbinado sugar or honey
1 tsp. xanthan gum (this makes it evenly blend, adds alitte thickness, also optional)

blend together with 24 oz. water for at least one minute.
have a 48 oz. jar, fill blended milk concentrate, fill rest with filtered water, gently shake.

all you need is a blender. i find that blending your hempseeds with less water, then mixing later allows the seeds to be dissolved enough to not need cheese cloth to strain your milk. (less time and washing up!)

green banana smoothie

throwing together small leftovers of raw vegetables,
fresh fruit, herbs and a protein is a great meal that
doesnt take long. the possibilities are endless.

one recipe:
1 banana
handful of spinach leaves
small piece of ginger chopped (or more for a spicier flavor)
handful of parsley
1/2 cucumber chopped
1/4 cup raw hemp seeds (great protein) (optional)

great things to add:
citrus juices
chopped nuts
flax meal
oatmeal
avocado
cinnamon
honey
lavender
cold brewed tea...
