+ The otis, shrimp boat Cap't, coyote ferret, wolf mouse extraordinaire

some pictures captured over the last couple months..

+ Camping in August

this was our only colorado camping this year, but Im glad we got up there before my school started. It was otis' second camping adventure, and we will probably get a sitter next time. He freaks out when it gets dark and we retire to the tent, he just doesn't get it. But it was beautiful and we found a private little forest to explore, i got to try out our new hammock and axe and we have a big fire into the evening.
i need more of this in my life. im not kidding.

+ Harbin hot springs

the last leg of our trip was at Harbin Hot springs, an interesting place, full nudity totally ok, but they wont serve you in their hippy cafe if you arent fully dressed...Wearing just a bathing suit, i was out of place in both, but managed to enjoy the sun, the pools, the surrounding nature, and the amazing dome rooms. We have the 3rd floor of the biggest dome, some pictures here are from out our window. We watched deer walk around below, and did a lot of reading and relaxing. Less that two months later, Harbon burned down to nearly nothing in the fired that swept through the valleys and hills north of san fran.

+ 4th floor studio stay

The old edwardian / victorian houses of san francisco are so damned charming. There a some houses like this in louisville kentucky, in the 'old louisville' neighborhood, but i haven't seen too many in Denver. The old sinks, and light fixtures, the attic windows, the creaky floors. Such tactile goodness, an artist can live off this stuff.

view from one of the windows. it was barely ever sunny that weekend, but san fran can get away with that because it offers other pleasantries.
