Below is a link to watch a news cast video of Shrek being Shorn in New Zealand with his owner, and a few fans :Shrek the sheep ran away and hid in a cave in New Zealand for 6 years. When Shrek was finally found in 2004, the sheep had gone unsheared for so long that it had accumulated 60 pounds of wool on its body, enough to make 20 suits! The sheep became famous and even got to meet the Prime Minister. Shrek finally passed away last month at the age of 16.

Although I won't be frequenting the dispensaries of Denver, I am glad that we are taking a step towards more freedom. Specifically, not locking up people who have been arrested for pot. Our jails and prisons are full of non violent drug users and I feel that drugs should be a public health issue, not one enforced by law and police. SO! Like it or not, weed is legal and the taxes will be going to help our state economy.

My new series of drawings investigates the visual qualities of intersecting circles whose area measurements are in proportions related to the Fibonacci Sequence. This experiment is a different way to look at the ratios of consecutive Fibonacci numbers. "Fibonacci Circle Curve Red" was created by rotating a series of Fibonacci Circles using the Golden Angle.

differential equations modeling atmospheric convection. Discovered by Ed
Lorenz in 1962, this set has become an attractive symbol for chaotic
dynamics. The art work was created by modifying Mathematica code developed
by Knill and Slavkovsky. An important new component was to have the curve
which generates the shape continuously change color. This allows the observer
to see the flow of motion as the attractor is generated.

“A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the “half empty or half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face she inquired, “How heavy is this glass of water?” The answers called out ranged from 8oz to 20 oz. She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If i hold it for a minute, its not a problem. If i hold it for an hour, i’ll have an ache in my arm. If i hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer i hold it, the heavier it becomes.” She continued, “The stress and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them for a big longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed - incapable of doing anything.” Always remember to put the glass down.”

+ Telluride
My first time to telluride was wonderful and amazing. We had the mountain to ourselves with our freshly waxed boards, soaked in hot tubs after coming down the mountain, ate like royalty and slept in luxurious hotel rooms. We rode gondolas everywhere and had 5 course meals paired with wine from all corners of the world. Barbara and Nona really treated us this year. Here are my favorite pictures of sites, a couple of us, and amazing views from our small plane home to Denver. the ravine you see in a couple of these is the Black Canyon state park.

+ El Curiot (a.k.a Flavio Martinez)
El Curiot is a mexican street artist and one of my favorite artists of today. Communicating with gestures enacted by fantastical creatures composted of energy, texture, light and color, El Curiot pushes the envelope on street art, children's illustrations, monsters, and magic.

Lalibela is a mountainous area in Ethiopia famous for its a peculiar complex of twelve religious constructions built probably in the 12th or 13th century. These “Monolithic Churches” (Church of the Redeemer, of Saint Mary, of Mount Sinai, of Golgotha, of the House of the Cross, of the House of the Virgins, of Saint Gabriel, of Abba Matta, of Saint Mercurius, of Immanuel, of St. George) have been carved out of red volcanic rock in the Middle-ages probably for the will of King Lalibela. The local sovereign wished to found a a “New Jerusalem” after Christian pilgrimage to the Holy Land was forced to stop due to Muslim conquest.
