+ Hares are not rabbits

hares live and nest above ground while rabbits burrow below. Newborn rabbits are blind and hairless, while hares are born with eyes open, more developed and prepared for the dangers of the wild. Hares have only rarely been domesticated.

fact! Rabbits and Hares are of the family Leporids of which there are over 60 species.
