Along a trail of pine trees and grasses we came along a loose collection of Giant quartz with veins of metallic minerals glistening in the sun. Green lichen grew on many of the boulders. Bright pink rose quartz littered the pine needle beds beneath ponderosas like bright white paper scattered in a dark street.
